“O give thanks to the Lord, call on his name,
make known his deeds among the peoples.” Psalm 105:1
WELCOME and CALL TO WORSHIP
THE CALL TO WORSHIP
With what shall we come before the Holy One, and bow ourselves before God on high?
God has shown us what is good.
What does the Holy One require of us?
Only that we do justice, love kindness, and walk humbly with our God!
Let us worship God, who shows us what is good.
OPENING HYMN All People That on Earth do Dwell 385
Because the singing of hymns is discouraged during this period of pandemic, you are invited to sing along at home or meditate on verses 1 and 4 below.
All people that on earth do dwell,
Sing to the Lord with cheerful voice;
Him serve with mirth, his praise forth tell.
Come ye before home and rejoice.
For why? The Lord our God is good;
His mercy is forever sure;
His truth at all times firmly stood,
And shall from age to age endure.
CALL TO PRAYERS
God is merciful and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love. Let us now admit our failings before God and one another that we might be forgiven, receive new life, and begin again.
PRAYERS OF CONFESSION AND INTERCESSION
God, we confess that many times we find it easier to talk about you than talk to you. But then as we do begin talking to you in our prayers, we often find that talking is easier than listening, and then that listening is easier than doing something about what you are saying to us – and calling us to do. Forgive us, we pray, for always trying to avoid the demands of your love. Break through our defenses and use us according to your will.
Hear us now as we silently lift the cares and concerns of our hearts.
Please refer to the deacon’s prayer list.
Lord, in your mercy,
hear our prayers. Amen.
ASSURANCE OF GOD WITH US
This is the promise of God, that when we walk Christ’s path,we will find that it is filled with new possibility, new hope, grace and God’s blessings. Friends, hear and believe the Good News of God...
In Jesus Christ we are forgiven and healed.
SHARING THE PEACE OF CHRIST
The peace of Christ be with you all.
And also with you.
PRAYER FOR ILLUMINATION
Prepare our hearts, O God, to accept you Word. Silence in us any voices but your own, so that we may hear your Word and also do it; through Christ our Lord. Amen.

OUR GIFTS OF SACRIFICE and THANKSGIVING
The Apostle writes: “There is no distinction between Jew and Greek; the same Lord is Lord of all and is generous to all who call on him.” Let us then come before the throne of grace, calling on the name of the Lord and bringing to him our tithes and our gifts.
Thank you for sending your offerings.
They make a great difference to our church’s work in the world.
Prayer of Dedication
Holy One, we bring these gifts to bless your world with hope. May they be a blessing to others. And bless us with patience and faith, that we may bring hope to a hurting world. Amen.
